Hello My Dear Friends,
There is an old Chinese proverb, “may you live in interesting times.” The times we live in are more interesting than I think any of us dreamed of or wanted. In the cycle of: Hard Times create Good Men and Good Men create Good Times and then Good Times create Weak Men and of course Weak Men create Hard Times, we are in an era of Weak Men. What comes next and how it will play out is anyone's guess but here are my observations. Feel free to disagree as that is how thinking is refined.
First, the times we live in are historic. We’re at a turning point. Likely the end of the American Republic. This is now widely accepted. This article compares this time with Roman times and the end of their republic.

The underlying substance will be a new kind of totalitarianism. All the traditional names, all the hallowed slogans will remain exactly what they were in the good old days. Democracy and freedom will be the theme of every broadcast and editorial. Meanwhile the ruling oligarchy and its highly trained elite of politicians and policemen, thought-manufacturers and mind-manipulators will quietly run the show as they see fit."
I would argue however that instead of gently going into the darkness, that more than 50% of the population are now awake. A few signs: art, polling, leftist commentary.
