We at The American Landscape would urge our subscribers to listen carefully to what this young lady above is saying … and then listen again.
Then … think about the multitude of implications of the truth she is putting on full display.
First, people today — especially 30 and below — no longer trust the mainstream media.
In one sense, this is good news … in that we are no longer subject to the propaganda of the deep state that apparently has for decades now used our tax dollars to fund the MSM’s distribution of a common narrative approved by those above us — i.e. our “masters.”
In another sense, however, her reality is, at best troubling on another level. Our newfound reliance on “influencers” and “podcasters” leaves us without any common source of truth shared by us all. Thus, this is a situation that will leave any culture confused to the degree that it can no longer form a unified sense of community based on any set of shared values.
In short, the “influencers” and “podcasters” you follow are very likely to be very different from those chosen by their peers. Thus, within any given peer group, the truths they arrive at are likely to be at least a little different — and maybe a lot different — than those truths that may be guiding the beliefs and behaviors of those around them.
And that will be true … UNLESS, we as a people can agree on at least one source of truth (or body of truths) to which all of us must agree to adhere in order for us in the aggregate to remain a cohesive social body of folks we call Americans.
The only such sources of truths that readily comes to mind are those Judeo/Christian values expressed in the Bible or those same values expressed in our nation’s founding documents — the Rule of Law, the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution — that are essentially those same Judeo/Christian values as expressed by our founding fathers in somewhat secular form.
Going forward, however, the problem we are going to have as a nation is whether the “influencers” and “podcasters” we happen to follow will ultimately take us all in that same direction as a collective body of people.
At minimum, this is worthy of consideration, lest we as a people inadvertently drift toward the same mistakes that were made by the citizens of Carthage and Constantinople prior to their disappearance as the powerful and influential cultural civilizations they once were, but that history erased from existence despite their best intentions and — like America of today — their firm, yet mistaken, belief that their civilization was both unassailable and invincible.
What is your guess as to our chances for success of avoiding a fate similar to theirs in this regard as America moves forward into the future given our present course that is being charted by “influencers” and “podcasters” most of us will never know, much less ever share in common with our fellow citizens?
Just saying …

Time for The Church in America to Step Up Its Game
Was the Election of Trump God’s Way of Calling the Church to Become a Queen Esther “Change Agent?”
By Dr. Mark Byers
In March 2023, I penned an article for The American Landscape that looked at the condition of our civil society and the downward trajectory I believed we were on at the time. Today, as I sit here on another semi-warm Alabama Saturday afternoon, I look out the window of my office and ponder how fragile our civil society is without the basics of the input and overshadow guidance from He Who the framers of the Constitution looked to more than eighty times as well – the Creator of the Universe as the Ultimate Framer of our nation's historic route into the 21st century, and beyond.
