Are We Experiencing an "Exodus" from Present Day Slavery?

Second only to Jesus' death and resurrection is the story of how God took the Jews out of slavery in Egypt to the Promised Land.  He raised up a leader in Moses, gave the slave master, Pharaoh, several chances to release them, then led them out through a miracle which was the parting of the Red Sea.  Even though the "Promised Land" was Israel and walking there takes less than a month, it took them forty years because the generation that was led out were disobedient.  They had a slavery mindset and a new generation had to arise that would fight "The Giants" and take their new land. 

I think that is a model for how God does things.
